WCS Dance Party and Workshops
Our last couple of Dance Parties were HUGE!!!
Join us this Saturday night, the 21st of January for the first dance party of the year. The night will start at 7:30pm with a 1 hour Beginner Workshop and 1 hour Intermediate Workshop running simultaneously. For the Intermediate Workshop, we will be reteaching the “Sexy and I Know It” flash mob routine with some updates to the Choreo. Once the learning is done, we will turn the lights down and the music up and have social dancing until 11:30pm.
Cost: $15.00 or FREE if you are a First Timer or from Interstate – so make sure you bring all your friends and family who want to know what WCS is all about!!

Raw Connection in Auckland New Zealand
We are so excited for the opening of Raw Connection Auckland NZ on Saturday the 4th of February 2012. With the incredibly talented Raw Con Auckland Team consisting of Eric Gray, Ani Fuller, Shannon Coxall-Jones, Reachel Allen and Kristy McKinney, we know these classes are going to be awesome!

New West Coast Swing Public Routine
If you enjoyed the Break Your Heart, Please Don’t Go and the Give Me Everything Routines, then you will love this one!
Choreographed again by Ben Morris and Holly Skinner, our next routine will be to the funky acoustic version of “Price Tag” by Bluey Robinson. This routine is fun, playful and full of awesome patterns, footwork and stylisations. If you are an intermediate dancer, you don't want to miss out on doing this fantastic routine. Find a partner now!
This routine will be taught over one weekend only and on the Saturday night we will have something fun planned for attendees too!

Times: Saturday 10am-12pm, 1pm-3pm & 4pm-6pm

This routine will also be performed at Swingsation 2012 & will also be used to compete with at the CMJ WCS Competition in June 2012.
WCS Beginner Intensive
Our next Beginner WCS Intensive is scheduled for Sunday the 4th of March 2012.
This course will cover the fundamental techniques you need to know about WCS as well as the basic patterns that form the foundation of the dance. With a focus on getting you confident and comfortable on the dance floor, this intensive is a must for anyone wanting to improve their WCS or kick start their love affair with this fun and interpretive dance style.
The Intensive will be limited to 10 Leaders and 10 Followers.
When: Sunday, 4 March 2012
Time: 12 noon to 5:00pm (4 hours of instruction)
Where: Broadbeach Bowls Club - 131 Ride Street, Greenslopes
Cost: $60.00 per person
Swingsation 2012
Swingsation registrations have been going off!!!! Ladies, unfortunately registrations for you have closed due to the overwhelming response we have received. If you are interested in attending the weekend, please email us to get your name put on the standby list!

Swingtimate 2012
This weekend is going to be incredible!! This is your chance to get up close and personal with champion West Coast Swing dancers, Kyle Redd and Sarah Vann Drake. Relax and mingle with Kyle & Sarah during the Friday night dinner dance with live music and then be inspired by this incredible couple as you learn from them and watch them dance throughout the rest of the weekend.
Swingtimate is designed to be an Intimate Weekend of WCS and is therefore limited to the first 50 girls and 50 guys to register and pay. Held over the weekend of the 7th - 9th of December 2012, the weekend will include:
- - US West Coast Swing Champions Kyle Redd and Sarah Vann Drake
- - 8 hours of WCS Workshops with Kyle & Sarah
- - Friday Night Dinner Dance including meal and live music
- - Saturday Night Dance Party until 2am
- - Jack & Jill Competition - Novice and Open categories
- - Performances by Kyle & Sarah including their 2012 Classic Routine.
- - Limited private lessons available on request

Private Lessons
Private lessons are an awesome way to get direct feedback on your dancing and improve your WCS. We have some awesome teachers at Raw Connection that are available to teach Private lessons at the cost of $70 per hour for 1 teacher and up to 2 students.
We also have an awesome Private Package deal that gets you 5 hours of private lessons and 3 group classes for the discounted rate of $300. That works out to be $60 an hour for the privates and free group classes!!

Pre-Class Freestyle
The pre-class social dancing from 7.00pm - 7.30pm has been going great! Our awesome DJ’s have been spinning some cool tracks. Make sure you join us from 7.00pm on Monday and Thursday nights and practice your WCS freestyle for over one and a half hours every night at no extra cost!
We also encourage any budding DJ’s to come down and play any cool tunes during this time. So if you think you have some groovy WCS tracks to spin, please contact me to organise a slot for you.
