Raw Connection WCS Gold Coast Class Opening

In addition to our Thursday night class, we have decided to hold casual classes on the Gold Coast every Monday night starting from the 15th February 2010.

Come along to our Gold Coast class Opening Night for FREE!

We have found a huge, air conditioned hall with great acoustics and plenty of free parking available. We will also be selling First Timers Passes at $30 for 5 lessons so please tell all your friends and get ready for a fantastic night!!!

 

Raw Connection Embroided Tops

We will be putting in our first merchandise order next Monday the 14th December. If anyone would like a top, please let me know your size and quantity by this Sunday. There is a black/charcoal button up mens shirt for $40 including logo and a ladies light blue or white racer back singlet including logo for $15 each.

I'll have photos of the tops at class this Thursday and at routine practice on Sunday if you are unsure what they look like. These tops actually cost more than what we are asking for so these prices will only be available to you on this order.

 

Christmas Holiday Dates

Our last class for 2009 will be on Thursday the 17th December, on that night we will have extended social dancing till 11.00pm.  Raw Connection classes will restart on Thursday the 7th January 2010 at Greenslopes Bowls Club.

 

Patterns & Styling Workshop 3

We had an overwhelming response to our last Patterns & Stying workshop at the beginning of October with over 40 people attending.  It’s fantastic to see so many dancers progressing quickly and implementing the new technique and moves into their freestyle.

Our next patterns and styling workshop will be early next year. The workshop will focus on pattern extensions, feet styling and syncopations to accentuate the music throughout your West Coast Swing dancing.

WCS Dance Party

It’s dance party time after the workshop on 20 February 2010 from 8.00pm-10.00pm
$5 entry for anyone who attends the prior workshop.
$15 for those who can’t make the prior workshop.
We will also be performing the I Gotta Feeling Routine during the night.

Next Beginner WCS 101 Course

The next beginner 101 Course will be held throughout February and March next year. This four week course covers the fundamental techniques you need to know about WCS as well as the basic patterns that form the foundation of the dance.

With a focus on getting you confident and comfortable on the dance floor, this course is a must for anyone keen to accelerate their WCS dancing. Air Conditioned Venue and No Partner Required.


Where: Dance HQ – 4/16 Pinter Drive, Southport
When: Saturdays 4.00pm – 6.00pm.  27 February and 6, 13, 21 March 2010
Cost: $130 or $100 if paid on or before 25 February 2010. If you have already completed one of our prior beginner 101 courses, you can attend this course and revise your basics for $50.

           

Interstate Workshops

A couple of week ago, a group of us from Queensland went to Sydney to attend the Mario Robau Jr Workshops & Competition run by Swing Dance Downunder. We left the workshops motivated and with such a massive amount of useful information to implement into our WCS. Also a huge congratulations to everyone who competed!

In January 2010, Nuroc Dance Company in Sydney are bringing out to Australia the number one West Coast Swing couple, Jordan Frisbee and Tatiana Mollmann!

Jordan & Tatiana have been a successful partnership for nine years. They are 11-Time US Open Champions, 6-time NASDE Champions and Multi-Grand National Champions. These guys will be teaching a series of workshops, including a WCS routine, from Wednesday, 20 January to Wednesday 27 January 2010 and will be performing their latest competition routine at the Performance Show Night on Saturday, 23 January 2010. There will also be a number of competitions run throughout the week. This is an amazing opportunity to learn from and watch the best in action.

A group of about 18 dancers from Raw Connection have already indicated they will be joining us over the week. Please let us know if you would like us you to reserve a seat at our table for the Performance Night on Saturday or if you would like to book some accommodation with us.

West Coast Swing Shoes

Raw Connection now has a full range of sizes of both men’s and women’s shoes suitable for WCS. Similar shoes normally retail for $170 in the stores but we are offering them for $100 a pair. Check out our website for more details.
